We received the following from the Williams Syndrome Association..... Thanks again for your generous offer of tickets to see Clay Aiken in Jackson, MI. The families who are going are very excited about the opportunity - especially the kids!! With best regards, About Williams syndrome: Williams syndrome is a rare genetic disorder. Individuals with Williams syndrome are missing 20 genes on one copy of chromosome #7. As a result of this deletion, individuals may experience mild to severe cardiac and/or kidney problems, developmental delays and unique learning disabilities - verbal skills often far exceed performance, and visual-spatial deficits can be severe. People with WS almost always have an excellent social demeanor and overly friendly personality. They also often have a passion for, or proficiency in music that is far stronger than would be expected based on their cognitive profile. In fact their unique musicality has sparked a new interest among researchers and the media. Segments on 60 Minutes, Nightline, First Edition and Public Television have highlighted these very special people in recent years.
