The Summer of 2004 marked Clay Aiken’s first Solo Tour, and the creation of The Way We Make a Difference.
Inspired by the Bubel/Aiken Foundation’s ideal of integrating individuals with disabilities into the life environment of those without, we set out to offer a concert experience to people who might not otherwise have the opportunity.
Thanks to the generosity of fans throughout the world, The Way We Make A Difference was able to provide 1,435 tickets so that people of all abilities could attend Clay's summer concerts together.
In November, 2004 when Clay embarked on his Christmas Tour, we tried to make our own Joyful Noise by continuing to spread his message. The concert halls were smaller and the venues quickly sold out, but we found that Christmas is a wonderful time to share the joy of inclusion. 232 donated tickets brought the joy of the season to children and families from Special Olympics, Ronald McDonald Houses, VSA Arts, the Make-A-Wish Foundation, The Arc and many local centers from New York to California.
Every ticket you donated was a voice lifted to make a difference. Thank you.
Happy Holidays With Love from the team... Mary, Pam, Chelle, Debbie, Elena,
Pat, Brenda, Cheryl, Deb and Mary.
