Making A Difference in Providence, RI

Thanks to the incredible generosity of Clay's fans, 22 individuals were able to hear Clay make a joyful noise in Providence, RI. The tickets were distributed as follows:

-- 4 tickets were donated to Best Buddies of Rhode Island.

-- 8 tickets went to The Blackstone Valley Chapter of The Arc.

-- 10 tickets were donated to VSA Arts of Rhode Island.

We received the following from the Executive Director of VSA arts of Rhode Island....

On behalf of VSA arts of Rhode Island and the children and adults with disabilities we serve, I send you our thanks for the tickets you donated to help over a dozen people attend the Clay Aiken Christmas Concert here in Rhode Island at the Providence Performing Arts Center on December 3rd.

For many people, the days during the holiday season can be a difficult time. For those who went to the Clay Aiken concert, not only was the day itself wonderful, but it also gave them many positive memories to have in future days. Among the individuals who attended the concert were adults with developmental disabilities living in local group homes, children with special needs who are living in foster homes while waiting to find adoptive families, several teenagers in the care of the State of RI's Department of Children Youth & Families (DCYF), one of who made you a card which I have enclosed, and a grandmother who had the unique opportunity to bring her very excited granddaughter to the show. Each one of them had an excellent experience; one called it "a magic time" and another who watches American Idol said it was "a dream come true."

As you of course know, none of these children or adults would have had that opportunity without your generosity. We are very grateful that you located us and found multiple "Team" members who got their ticket donations to us. You Are An Amazing Group and certainly did make a difference!

Thank you once again for your thoughtfulness and generosity.

It's important that I make a difference in some way. It's not necessarily how I make a difference, but I want to make sure that I do. -- Clay Aiken
