Thanks to the incredible generosity of Clay's fans, 17 tickets were donated to Best Buddies of Iowa to see Clay perform at the Iowa State Fair on August 15, 2004.

We received the following email from Missy who is the High School Program Manager of Best Buddies in Iowa. An email, along with photographs of the Best Buddies group, was sent to Missy after one of our "The Way We Make A Difference" members had the opportunity to meet the group at Clay's concert........
Great photos! Thanks so much for sending them to me! I’ve forwarded them on to all the students who attended as well as some of our Regional Director’s of Best Buddies International.
We had a wonderful time at the concert! Senator Tom Harkin (who Clay asked to stand up during the concert) came over to talk to us before the concert started. He’s been an amazing supporter of Best Buddies. We were also interviewed by the local television station before we went in to the concert, but I don’t think our segment made it on the news.
We ended up standing near one of the white tents on the side of the stage section so we could all be together. It worked out just fine. Two of the tickets were for the floor stage section, so I took one of the Buddies in there to get a closer view and she danced through almost the entire concert. I’m surprised you didn’t see us because we were holding our Best Buddies posters up throughout most of the concert. The students were really hoping Clay saw our posters and knew we were there. :-)
Anyway…thanks again for giving our students the opportunity to attend this concert. They all had such a fantastic time and were elated to be there. One Buddy was nearly in tears throughout the concert and another just kept telling me how "freekin’ cool" this was.
