Thanks to the generosity of Clay's fans,
Jacobs' Ladder Therapeutic Riding Center received 8 reserved tickets, including 8 fair admissions, and Valdosta-Lowndes County YMCA received 5 reserved tickets along with 7 fair and concert admissions which were provided to participants in the YMCA's Challenger League for children with disabilities.
We received the following from Julie at Jacobs' Ladder...
As a volunteer at Jacobs' Ladder Therapeutic Riding Center in Hahira, GA I
would like to express great gratitude for the tickets to the Clay Aiken
concert last night. The opportunity to go to the concert for free last night
meant more to me than I know how to express.
I have attached pictures of some of the others that were able to go due
to your generous contribution. I am sure they are just as thankful as I
am. I am sorry I was not able to get more than 3 of us, I was just
enjoying the concert and forgot! These were taken right as the concert
started and slightly before. Hopefully you can see that Justin, the
boy in the yellow Jacobs' Ladder t-shirt is clapping in the
picture. I enjoyed watching him have fun.
Thank you,
Julie
The letter below was written by Justin's mom...
Dear Friends,
We wanted to let you know how much it meant to us for you to send tickets and passes to see Clay Aiken at
Wild Adventures. We all enjoyed it so much, especially my son Justin. Justin has Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, and Autism. He is the little red headed boy in the pictures that Julie Carter e-mailed to you Sunday, Aug. 7th. He loved the music and excitement as well as riding the rides in the park. I usually feel very nervous going to things like that due to the fact that I never know how he will react as well as how everyone else will receive him. After finding out about Clay's involvement with "Special" kids I felt very comfortable and at home. It is people like the whole Clay Aiken's group and Jacobs' Ladder that makes such a difference in our lives.
Since Julie Carter sent pictures of us at the concert I am attaching a picture of her, Leslie Jacobs, and a very special volunteer, Ryan. They have all meant so much to Justin. Because of the time they spend working with Justin, his upper body strength has greatly improved. Justin went from hardly being able to sit straight up while on a horse to now trotting and walking without someone leading him. We just can't say enough about them and we are so happy that you took the time to find out about Jacobs' Ladder.
The other picture that I am attaching is me, Justin, and Missy (his Occupational Therapist) riding some rides. We had no idea that she was going so it was a real treat for Justin to have fun with so many people that are such an very important part of his life. Thank you again for giving us the opportunity to see the concert. It was great! We are very big fans and always will be.
Sincerely,
Randy, Lori & Justin Crosby
